Day 01 Board the Ghan in Adelaide
Step aboard The Ghan in Adelaide for your unforgettable adventure to the Top End. As the train leaves the city heading for the Flinders Ranges and beyond, it’s your chance to settle into your cabin and watch the changes in landscape.

Day 02 the Ghan, Alice Springs
After your first night enjoying the fine dining and relaxed comfort of this iconic train, you’ll wake to an amazing outback sunrise at Marla – a remote outpost 160 kilometres from the Northern Territory border that marks the start of the Oodnadatta Track. Enjoy more otherworldly outback scenery before arriving into Alice Springs early in the afternoon to enjoy an Off Train Experience that delves deeper into this historic outback town. Alternatively, you may elect to visit Simpsons Gap, a magical location where important elements of flora, fauna and Indigenous culture come together; this is one of several Off Train Experience options – the choice is yours. Day 03 the Ghan, Katherine and Darwin
As the landscape transforms into the tropics heading further north, prepare to experience one of the Top End’s most impressive natural wonders near Katherine. The stunning Nitmiluk Gorge lies within the massive 292,000-hectare Nitmiluk National Park. You’ll have the chance to explore it from the water with guided cruise options – an Off Train Experience you’ll never forget.
A few hours later as evening falls, you’ll arrive in Darwin for a transfer to your accommodation, where you can settle in and reflect on your outback adventure thus far.

Day 04 Darwin Harbour Dinner Cruise
Stroll around Darwin today, taking in the fascinating history of the northern Capital at your own pace. Wander to the Stokes Hill Wharf area, stroll through the Botanic Gardens or the Chinese Temple and don’t forget a visit to the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. This evening, prepare to be amazed by the breathtaking tropical sunset from a location like no other – savour the sights and enjoy the swirl of the sea breeze as you sail and on a spacious, modern catamaran. Enjoy a sumptuous meal onboard focused on local produce and fresh seafood. Nothing is more relaxing than soaking up the splendour of the skies, champagne flute in hand. (B, D)

Today is for further exploration of the Darwin waterfront and its top-notch restaurants, taking in the relaxed pace of life in the north. Alternatively, consider an optional tour (additional expense) to make the most of your time in the Top End. (B)
