Qantas

Qantas has just released details of an accelerated return to service, bringing forward the restart of more international flights.

The ramp-up follows confirmation from the Federal and NSW Governments that international borders will reopen from 01 November, and the NSW decision to remove quarantine requirements for fully vaccinated arrivals, which significantly increases travel demand.

All Qantas and Jetstar workers based in Australia and New Zealand who are currently stood down will return to work by early December.

23 November - Sydney to Singapore
6 December - Sydney to India
7 December - Sydney to Fiji
‘Mid-December’ - Honolulu, Vancouver, Tokyo and New Zealand (to be confirmed)
5 January - Sydney to Johannesburg
12 January - Sydney to Phuket
14 January - Sydney to Bangkok
06 November - Melbourne to London

Virgin Australia ·

Virgin has also brought forward its overseas flights, with Fiji being the first destination on offer. It will allow Sydneysiders to fly to Nadi from December 16 (one week earlier than it previously flagged).

Hawaiian Airlines:

Hawaiian Airlines have announced they will restart Sydney to Honolulu flights from the 15th of December 2021.

Singapore Airlines:

Daily Singapore Airlines flights from Melbourne will return from 1st November 2021.

Air Canada:

Will return to Sydney from the 17th of December 2021 with three flights a week departing Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. More flights will be introduced from the 7th January 2022.

Qatar Airways:

Will restart daily flights from Sydney and Melbourne departing from the 1st of December 2021.

International travel vaccination certificates available

Announcements are coming thick and fast and so we want to make sure you are up today with the latest announcement from the government. We have also included an update on a few of our major airlines in relation to their flight schedules.

International Travel Vaccination Certificate

- New vaccine certificates for international travel will be available from Tuesday morning, as the federal government prepares for the further easing of international border restrictions.
- The certificates are proof to border authorities around the world that the holder has been vaccinated against COVID-19. The certificates can be requested and downloaded through the MyGov website.
- They have QR codes which can be scanned by foreign border officials.
-The documents are linked to a physical passport, with people asked to provide their passport details when they request the document from Medicare.
- The certificate is then sent to the person who requested it, and they can print it off or store it as a file on their smartphone.

Our understanding is the airlines will provide specific dates on when they will offer international flights to and from other Australian cities, dependant on when they reach the 80 per cent vaccination target.
